She loves to teach, she loves to write and most of all she loves being a mother to not only Rob, but all the other children as well. She loves the outdoors, and is always up to a challenge. She puts the kids interests above her own, and is always looking out for them. His uncle was a drunk, and a violent man, so he and Ben left to set out on their own. He went to sea at 15, and has traveled the world over. He first came to Plumfield temporarily, but he punches Captain Hoffman and gets arrested for assault. Jo talks the Judge into letting Nick serve out his sentence at Plumfield, as their caretaker.</B></div> <div> <B>Nick is a hard worker, but he does have a bit of a temper. He's great with the kids, and they obey him without question. Laurie sponsors Dan to go to Plumfield too.</B></div> <div> <B>He had a discipline problem at first, but has gotten a lot better. He likes to help Nick, and is a great tracker and marksman, thanks to an Indian friend. Because he was so young, some of the parents pulled their boys out of Plumfield, and Captain Hoffman even tried finding a replacement teacher. But Franz proved his worth as a teacher and stayed on permanently, giving up Harvard. He eventually met Isabelle and fell in love. I think that there might be a spark between her and the newspaper editor...
