This page is dedicated to Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942), the author of Anne of Green Gables and other stories. Maud was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada and raised by her maternal grandparents. Until her marriage in 1911, Maud lived in P.E.I., then she lived in Ontario from 1911 until her death in 1942. Many of her novels about Prince Edward Island were actually written in Southern Ontario where she lived as a minister's wife.
