Cedric Smith  (Alec King)

Cedric Smith is well known as a singer and musician, but he is also a veteran performer.  In 1993, for his role as Alec King in 'Road to Avonlea', Cedric won the prestigious Canadian Gemini Award, for Best Actor. He has also appeared in 'Witchboard III: The Possession' (1995), and the TV mini series, 'Million Dollar Babies' (1994) and 'JFK : Reckless Youth' (1993). He had a small role in the mini-series 'Anne of Green Gables' (1985), in which he played Rev. Allan.  His latest work includes 'Thunder Point' (1996) and 'The Long Island Incident' (1998).

Lally Cadeau  (Janet King)

Lally Cadeau has won two Gemini Awards, one being for her role as Janet King in 'Road to Avonlea'. She has starred and guest-starred in various television series and mini-series, and films including 'Deadly Matrimony' (1992), 'Hangin' In' and 'Kane & Abel' (1985). She has been nominated, and has won awards for her work in television, film, theater and radio, including an ACTRA Award for Best Newcomer to Television in 1981. In 1996 she starred in 'Rossini's Ghost'.

Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King)

Jackie Burroughs was the winner of the 1990, 1991, and 1994 Gemini Award for Best Actress for her role as Hetty King in 'Road to Avonlea'. She has also received two CableACE Award nominations for her role as Hetty King. She has received other awards and nominations for her work, and has starred and guest starred in 'A Judgement in Stone' (1986), 'Evergreen' (1985), Anne of Green Gables (1985) (in which she appeared as Mrs Amelia Evans) and 'A Winter Tan' (1987), which she not only co-wrote and co-directed, but for which she received the Genie Award for Best Actress.  Her other performances : 'Elvis Meets Nixon' (1997),   'Evidence of Blood' (1998), and a guest role on 'Lonesome Dove : The Outlaw Years' (1995). In 1998 she starred in 'Last Night' and 'More Tales of the City'.

Mag Ruffman (Olivia King Dale)

Mag Ruffman is not only a popular actress, but also a comedienne, singer and dancer. She has had other roles in 'Anne of Green Gables' (1985) and 'Anne of Avonlea' (1987) as the character Alice Lawson, and in has appeared in 'Looking for Miracles' (1989), and the TV movie 'Stranger in the Family' (1991).  In 1998 she hosted a home repair show in Canada, 'A Repair to Remember'.  She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband.  Screen Trade Canada said of Mag "Mag is an accomplished musician, dancer and singer who possesses the unique gift of being able to relate to children on their own level.  All the junior members of the Avonlea cast   sought her advice on everything from how to tune a flute to how to smuggle newts into the girls' trailer.  Mag is an actress of immense ability. She has a quick wit and a wry sense of humour.   She has earned a growing respect as her career has broadened.  She is an actress to watch."

Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley)

Born on the 8th January 1979, Sarah Polley is a popular and talented actress, and has many different roles to her credit. She appeared in the first five seasons of 'Road to Avonlea', only to have minor guest-starring appearances in the sixth and seventh seasons. She has had two Gemini Award nominations for her role as Sara Stanley, and has won two Gemini Awards for her role as Jodi Turner in 'Lantern Hill' (1990) . She is a very outspoken young lady, and a passionate political activist. Sara's other roles include 'Joe's So Mean to Josephine' (1996), 'Exotica' (1994) and 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' (1989).  Most recently Sarah has starred in 'Joe's So Mean to Josephine' (1996) and the critically acclaimed 'The Sweet Hereafter' (1997). Sarah dropped out of high school to become a political activist for Socialist groups. She lives with her writer boyfriend in Toronto. She was attacked by police at a political protest at Queens Park in 1995.  She can be currently seen in the movie 'Go'.  Watch out for her other projects :  The Weight of Water (2000) and eXistenZ (1999).  There is also very positive buzz about Guinevere (1999).  See the September issues of George and Interview for more on Sarah - Sarah also appeared on the April 1999 issue of Vanity Fair.

Zachary Bennett (Felix King)

Born on 17th February 1980, Zachary Bennett was nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for his role as Felix King in 'Road to Avonlea'. He received an Emmy Award nomination for his starring role as Sullivan Delaney in 'Looking for Miracles' (1989). He co-starred with several of his fellow 'Road to Avonlea' cast members in the TV mini-series 'By Way of the Stars' (1992). His impressive television and films credits include 'The Good Mother', 'Ghost Mom' (1993) and 'Bury Me in Niagara' (1993). His latest TV movies : 'Undue Influence' (1996) and 'Nothing too Good for a Cowboy' (1998).  In 1999 Zachary plays 'Paul' in the TV movie, 'The Secret Path'. Zachary Bennett comes from an acting family: his father teaches drama, his mother is his coach, and his elder brother Gareth along with sisters Marion and Sophie all work in the field. In addition to his film and television work, Zachary has a great love for the theatre. He played the role of Billy in the Canadian premiere of David French's award-winning play 1949 at the St. Lawrence Centre in Toronto.  See Zachary in 'Desire' (2000).

Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King)

Born in May 1976, Gema Zamprogna is not only an actress but a dancer. She has appeared in many productions, which have been seen around the world. She has appeared as a dance soloist with many symphonies, including the Florida Symphonic Pops in Boca Raton, Florida. Gema is a native of Hamilton, Ontario. She comes from  family of performers. Her parents operate a dance school, and her father Lou is a professional Director/Choreographer.  He is also the director of a performing arts program at Hamilton's professional theatre, Theatre Aquarius. Dominic and Amanda, Gema's twin siblings, are also accomplished stage and screen actors and they look forward to the day when they will get the opportunity to work together on the same project. She had a challenging role playing a young girl, Mackie Daniels, who has to masquerade as a boy, Mac, in order to become a member of the music group, 'The Challengers' (1989). She also portrayed the Baroness Ursula von Knabig in the mini-series 'By Way of the Stars' (1992). Gema works on the television series "World Vision", which is dedicated to finding foster parents for disadvantaged children in third world countries. Gema's portrayal of the brash, opinionated Felicity King has earned her two Gemini nominations for Best Supporting Actress in 1991 and 1994. In 1999 Gema plays 'Arlene' in the TV movie, 'Pirates of Silicon Valley'.

Michael Mahonen (Gus Pike)

Michael Mahonen has performed leading roles in theaters across Canada. He won a Gemini Award for his role as Lee Colgan in the mini-series 'Conspiracy of Silence' (1991). He was nominated for a Gemini Award for his role as Gus Pike in the 'Road to Avonlea' episode 'The Return of Gus Pike'. His other performances include 'By Way of the Stars' (1992), 'Giant Steps' (1992) and 'The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccomatios'.  He has guest-starred on the TV series 'Star Trek: Voyager' episode 'Nemesis' (1997) and the 'Viper' episode 'Wilderness Run' (1997).  Michael lives in Los Angeles. His movie, 'Captured' (1998), will be due for video release at the end of 1999.

Molly Atkinson (Cecily King)

A serious actress with dreams of greater things to come, Molly has attended the acclaimed Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. She comes to the role of Cecily from her previous continuing role as Alison Winfield in "The Mighty Jungle." Her television experience includes two episodes of "Ready or Not," and four episodes of the international children's television series "Frog Show." Molly's theatrical credits include roles in local and regional theater productions such as "Annie," "Oliver," "The Wizard of Oz," and "Fiddler on the Roof."

Heather Brown (Izzy Pettibone)

Heather Brown began her career at the age of five in a school production of "Annie." Her first professional appearance on stage was as Young Cosette and Young Eponine in the Canadian premiere of "Les Miserables" at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Other roles include the part of a psychic in "Kung Fu," and a part in the series "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" Her film credits include "This Is My Life" and "Married to It."

R. H. Thomson (Jasper Dale)

An accomplished stage and film actor, Thomson has appeared in the feature films "If You Could See What I Hear," "Vision Quest," "Surfacing," "Max," "When Gravity Fails," "First Season," and "Ticket To Heaven." His television credits include episodes of "Moonlighting" and "The Twilight Zone," as well as the made-for-television movies "The Quarrel," "The Babymaker," "Bonds of Love," "Henry Ford: The Man and The Machines," "Escape From Iran," "An American Christmas Carol," and The Disney Channel Premiere Film "Mark Twain and Me." Thomson has performed with the Stratford Festival Theatre and has acted as a fight choreographer and instructor on several features and period stage productions. He can be seen in 1999's TV movie 'Crime in Connecticut : The Story of Alex Kelly.'

Kay Tremblay (Aunt Eliza)

Kay Tremblay has an extensive list of credits in theater, film, and television. As a founding member of The Grand Theatre, she has appeared in numerous stage productions. Her television experience is equally impressive, having appeared in more than 30 leading roles for the CBC. Credits include "Secret Service," "E.N.G.," "Friday the 13th," "Night Heat," and "The Judge."  In 1998 Kay starred in 'The Real Howard Spitz'.

Ian Clark (Simon Tremayne)

Ian Clark's many television credits include a lead role in "Trial & Error," as well as appearances in "Women of Windsor," "Beyond Reality," "Fight for Freedom," "Forever Night," "RoboCop: The Series," and "Top Cops." His film credits include "Burning Love," "The Boy In Blue," "The Force," "Equus," and the acclaimed "32 Short Films About Glenn Gould."

David Fox (Clive Pettibone)

A longtime veteran of stage and screen, Fox has appeared in the "Secret Service" series, "Top Cops," "Beyond Reality," and the miniseries "By Way Of The Stars," "Family Pictures," "Women of Windsor," and the yet-to-be-seen "Black Fox," as well as numerous Canadian television shows. His film credits include "Ganesh," "Palais Royale," and "Silence of the North."

Zachary Ansley (Arthur Pettibone)

Zachary Ansley has worked extensively in film and theatre since he first appeared on the screen as a young actor in Disney's 'The Journey of Natty Gann'. In addition to his film performances in Anne Wheeler's 'Cowboys Don't Cry' and Warner Bros' 'This Boys Life', Zach has played regular roles on the 'X-Files', 'Madison' and appeared in many notable MOW's and television dramas.  He can be seen in 'Second Date' (1998).

Marilyn Lightstone (Muriel Stacey)

Well known to American and Canadian audiences alike, Marilyn Lightstone has co-starred in such films as "The Grand Tour," "The Tin Flute" (for which she won Best Actress at the Moscow International Film Festival), "The Wild Pony," and, of course, the original and sequel of "Anne of Green Gables." Her television credits include guest-starring roles in "E.N.G.," "Street Legal," "Max Glick" (for which she was nominated for a Gemini Award), "Starman," and "Cheers." Lightstone's voice can also be heard in several animated series, including "Dennis The Menace," "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures," "Wish Kid," and "Prostars."

Kyle Labine (Davey Keith)

Kyle Labine brought life to the mischievous Davey Keith. A young actor with ambition, he first made a name for himself as a commercial spokesperson and voice-over specialist. Labine's credits include roles on "Top Cops," "Fight For Freedom," "E.N.G.," and "Moment of Truth." Kyle has had recurring principal role on series "Nilus the Sandman", voice of lead character "Harry" in cartoon series "Darkstalkers", playing lots of bullies - "Jonathan" in feature film with David Bowie, "Exhuming Mr. Rice", coming out soon, also a very funny & stupid bully named "Dumb Dave" in feature film with Ben Kingsley and Mercedes Ruele coming out for Halloween '99. He played another bully in Disney film called "Dog's Best Friend", and a smart-alec student in series "Dead Man's Gun". He also starred in 2 episodes of Goosebumps, as Evan in Monster Blood parts 1 and 2. {Special thanks to Karen Labine for the update!}

Lindsay Murrell (Dora Keith)

Lindsay Murrell returns for a second season in her role as Dora Keith. In addition to her recurring role on "Avonlea," she has had a principal role in the comedy series "The Vacant Lot" and appeared in the series "The Hidden Room." She can be seen in 'Beyond the Call' (1996).
