Out of the Ashes

Felicity continues to mourn a year after she learns that Gus' ship was lost at sea. While attending a town meeting, she is maneuvered into excepting a position on a committee to assess the old Lloyd mansion. Upon examining the house, the committee discovers four orphans living there. Stuart McRae, a new banker, supports Felicity's idea that the house should be converted into a fondling home. The project, along with Stuart's affections, promises to help Felicity get over her loss of Gus.

Love May Be Blind...but the Neighbours Ain't

The Presbyterian Youth Picnic and Dominion Day promises to be the center of excitement in Avonlea. Felix risks losing Izzy's friendship in a misunderstanding, and Jasper must tell Olivia that he wants to except an offer to teach in England. In addition, Hannah Hubble turns all the boys heads and irritates all the girls in town.

Davey and the Mermaid

Snibb's Travelling Midway arrives in Avonlea in time for the fall fair. Davey becomes infatuated with the fair Melusina the Mermaid, and discovers that Snibb and company plan to double-cross the town's citizens. Davey soon finds himself in terrible danger.

Woman of Importance

The arrival of Izzy's aunt, Lillian Hepworth, in Avonlea causes tension in the Pettibone household. Izzy feels excluded now that Clive and Muriel are married, and wishes to travel to Boston with her aunt. Clive and Muriel are caught in the middle of one family dispute after another, and must come to terms that Izzy is no longer a child and can make her own decisions.

Secrets and Sacrifices

Janet's sister Abigail and her husband return to Avonlea and tempers flare in the King household. In the meantime, Alec wants to surprise Janet with a family birthstone ring for her anniversary and borrows her wedding ring to take a measurement. When Janet realizes her ring is gone she goes to the same jeweler as Alec for a replacement. Mayhem ensues as both Alec and Janet try to hide their plans from each other.

Ah...Sweet Mystery of Life

Hetty King and Simon Tremayne surprise everyone in Avonlea when they announce they will be getting married. Unfortunately, Clive Pettibone arrives in town with the district superintendent to Avonlea School and Hetty learns she must teach in Carmody next year since Avonlea School will be closing. Hetty soon becomes distracted from her wedding preparations as she help tutor her students to win a scholastic competition against Carmody that will allow Avonlea School to remain open if they win.

King of the Great White Way

Rudy and Betty Blaine, a famous Broadway songwriting team, arrive at the White Sands Hotel for relaxation and inspiration. Hetty dismisses them as riffraff until she learns they performed for King George of England, then she caters to their every need. Hetty organizes a musicale in hopes that Avonlea will be recognized by royalty, and Alec surprises everyone when he shows he has a talent for singing.

Total Eclipse

As a solar eclipse draws closer, people from everywhere flock to Avonlea to view the event, and the White Sands Hotel is soon booked full. When Cecily accidently sets fire to a large sum of money meant for charity, Felix devises a scheme to get the money back that involves renting rooms in the King home. Unfortunately, when Janet returns from Charlottetown early, they have a lot of explaining to do.

From Away

Two English orphans, Brett and Ian, arrive in Avonlea to live at the fondling home. Davey tries to be friends with the two boys but only ends up getting into fights with them and trouble. When he learns the boys plan to run away and find their older brother, Davey steals money from Hetty and helps them find their brother.

After the Ball is Over

Abigail gets Janet to plan a huge birthday party for Eliza's 90th birthday. Aged cousin Winnifred arrives for the party, but she suffers from delusions and memories of Eliza's lost love. The family has their hands full in trying to deal with Winnifred.

Return to Me

As Felicity prepares for her wedding with Stuart, she receives a strange phone call from South Carolina. She believes that Gus is alive and plans to track down the source of the call. Accompanied by Hetty, Felicity finds Gus alive, but he has lost his sight. It's up to her to persuade Gus to return to Avonlea with them.

The Last Hurrah

Eulalie Bugle and Archie Gillis campaign for Avonlea to amalgamate with nearby Carmody. Alec and others, along with the help of Stuart, begin their own campaign to defeat the Carmody proposal. Fortunately, Jasper returns home from England just in time to give an emotional address that sways the vote in favor of Alec and his supporters. However, their luck changes when a fire burns the Dale Cannery to the ground.

So Dear to My Heart

The King family and Stuart are stunned when Felicity and Hetty return to Avonlea with the blind Gus Pike. Felicity faces one of the hardest moments in her life and must confront Stuart about his marriage proposal. In the meantime, Hetty feels betrayed when Jasper and Olivia announce they plan to leave Avonlea and will not be rebuilding the cannery.
