Zack carrying a lightsaber? |

I just visited one of my favorite Star Wars page
(I´m a huge fan of the Star Wars Universe) and I found that our very own Zack Bennet has
been suggested by a fan to play Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Episode II and III. Well,
I think he is not a good candidate for the role of Anakin- but it´s nice to know he is
becomming well known. It would be fun to know who nominted him:0D. To see it for your self visit Episode 2 Casting Picture

The
Gemini nominations are out |
23.09. 1999 |
Happy Christmas, Miss King got four nominations:
- Best TV Movie or Dramatic Mini-Series
- Best Direction in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series (Stefan
Scaini)
- Best Costume Design (Ruth Secord)
- Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting
Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series (Mag Ruffman)
Although Jackie Burroughs didn´t get nominated for her excellent
work in HCMK she is likely to win (cross your fingers) the award for Best Performance by
an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series (Armistead Maupin's More
Tales of the City "Part 1"). It was a disappointment that Lally Cadeau didn´t
get nominated for the role of Janet King in HCMK- she would have deserved that for her
outstanding preformance:0)

In Guinevere, Sarah plays
the wealthy 21 year-old Harper Slone. Harper meets the irish photographer Connie
Fitzpatrick(Stephen Rea) who is thirty years older than she is. He makes her come out of
her shell and is the first person to believe in her. Later, Harper, joins an
unofficial club of women Connie has seduced and cultivated. Sarah
had this to say about the movie in Empire Magazine:
"There were people who came up to me and said, 'I had a
relationship just like this'. Every part I´d played until this, I´d be petrified,
thinking I couldn´t do it. But with Harper, I knew exactly who she should be."

L.M.Montgomery
heirs v.s. Kevin Sullivan |
08.08..1999 |
 |
L.M.Montgomery
heirs are said to have been fighting with Sullivan Entertainment for nearly a decade over
the profits of "Anne of Green Gables" series. The family signed a contract with
Kevin Sullivan in 1984 which gave the company the right to make "Anne of Green
Gables" and "Anne of Avonlea". For this, L.M.M. family got $425,000
and a promised 10% of the net profits.
Now, the family feels like their being stonewalled
by Sullivan Entertainment. They claim not to have gotten net profits (royalities) for the
movies.
Sullivan Entertainment put out a press release in
response to the family´s complaints. Randy Pepper (Sullivan Entertainment´s lawyer),
said according to a standard, legal definition, the two Anne series did not make a
"net profit." Pepper added that this dispute over the definition is the reason
why the company hasn't submitted to an independent audit.
Randy Pepper also staited that the company offered a
final settlement of $150,000 to the family which they refused. They also refused the
company's offer of mediation. The company denied having stonewalled the heirs of
L.M.Montgomery.
In conclusion Sullivan Entertainment will not be
going public in the near future and it's blaming the family of Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Sullivan says those comments have created "market uncertainty." In light of
that, it will not proceed with its initial public offering as planned. Sullivan
Entertainment says it is also considering suing the family for damages caused by,
"defamatory statements."
As a great fan of Sullivan Entertainment´s Anne
series and Road to Avonlea, I hope that this dispute will be settled and will not
interfere with the decision of Kevin Sullivan to release other Avonlea-related
productions. We are all hoping for another "Road to Avonlea"-reunion, am I
right?!!

Mickey´s
age mystery solved |
07.08..1999 |
Well, the cats out of the
bag!! Finally, one of Avonlea´s most frequently asked
question has been answered. Mickey was born on the 27. April 1964 in Kirkland Lake,
Canada. That makes him a 35 year old taurus- 12 years older than Gema Z (born in May
1976).

The
Anne of Green Gables Trilogy |
07.08..1999 |
 |
As most Avonlea admireres
know, this fall "Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story" will hit the
TV-sets in Canada. There is no reliable information on when the movie/TV-series will be
shown in other countires. Most of the original cast will
resume their role in AoGG. Currently I only know of one exception. Bruce McCulloch, who
played Diana´s husband Fred Wrigh, will not be returning. A familiar face to RTA fans
will take his place. Felicity´s first heartbreaker- Greg Spottiswood, the actor who
played David Hawes. If you don´t remember him, he visited Avonlea in the episode
"How Kissing was Discovered". He was very interested in cricket but didn´t give
Felcity the time of day- lucky for Gus!!

installment of "Anne of Green Gables", visit Sullivan Entertainment homepage. |

Sarah
Polley in "The Weight of Water" |
07.08..1999 |
 |
It seems that everything,
our Sarah, touches turnes into gold:0)
In an article on Variety.com,
Sarah is said to be closing a deal along with Sean Penn to star in "The Weight of
Water".
About the book "The Weight of Water".
Anita Shreve
is the authoress of "The Weight of Water".
Synopsis:
"In 1873, two women were found brutally murdered on a small island off the New
Hampshire coast. A third woman survived the attack, hiding in a sea cave until dawn.
More than a century later, a photographer, Jean, comes to the
island to shoot a photo-essay about the unsolved crime. She becomes obsessed with accounts
of the dead women's lives in this barren fishing town: the long stretches of loneliness,
the relentless winds that threaten both people and their property. Is marital misery
connected to the killings?
Jean's marriage is enduring heavy weather of its own. On the boat
she has chartered for this project, she and her husband are growing more distant from each
other. Their nights are full of drink and terrible silences, and Jean feels jealousy and
distrust invading her life and her work. The forces that blasted the island a century
earlier come alive inside Jean, bringing her to the verge of actions she never dreamed
herself capable of -- with no idea whether her choices will destroy all she has ever
valued or bring her safely home." (Synopsis is taken from The Books Homepage).
