Anne of Green Gables  The Continuing Story

Anne of Green Gables : The Continuing Story is a fine attempt at appeasing the fans of the Original and the Sequel.  Indeed it had quite large and comfortably warm shoes to fill as the first movie was almost immediately hailed as a Canadian classic and adored by fans all over the globe.  Anne 3 attempts to show the more human side of Anne. We see our favourite characters struggling with the adversity of life and the harsh aspect of reality.  It is a treat to see sucn a cast of fine Canadian actors reasenbled together once more.  My only hope would have been for greater continuity between the previous story.  To see more of the emotional ties to Rachel, or Mrs. Barry or to Avonlea in general.  It seemed as though it was in a way a completely different story, a WWI epic, told with the coincidental similarity to "Anne".  Anne 3 met with mixed reviews from fans and critics alike but one can surely see the positive aspects of the third and painfully final installment.  Great scenes between Gil and Anne and wonderful photography make it worth while.  It is my humble opinion that to recreate the magic of what was the first film would have been impossible.  This film is definatly worth it.
