In Canada, Anne of Green Gables - The Sequel has just been released in video retail stores and mass merchants. Sales are expected to demonstrate Canadian's continuing love of the red-headed Anne Shirley.

Anne of Green Gables - The Sequel tells the continuing story of Anne Shirley as she makes the transition from an impetuous orphan to an accomplished young teacher. Canadian actress Megan Follows returns to her role as Anne. Tony award winner, Colleen Dewhurst stars opposite her as Marilla Cuthbert and Oscar winning British actress Dame Wendy Hiller appears as the prickly dowager Mrs. Harris. This is an emotional conclusion, full of wit, to the epic tale of the beguiling red head.

The film will be released in theatres across Japan, in March 1997, by Shochiku Co. Ltd., the country's largest theatre chain.

The lot, which also houses Sullivan's four soundstages, occupies 4.5 acres of land in the east end of Toronto. Prior to its purchase, Sullivan had already put its stamp on the land by constructing a vividly-detailed replica of small-town Ontario.
